The Chronicle, Husain (Random House Penguin-India, 2019)

Reputed to be the favorite novel of the 2013 Booker Prize shortlisted Intizar Husain, The Chronicle provides two contrasting narratives: cultural latency in a Pakistani police state and cultural efflorescence revealed in a family chronicle detailing Muslim history in South Asia over hundreds of years.
