Trisha returns to Calcutta to attend her father’s cremation ceremony. Having come back to her parents’ home after years in France, she is inundated with memories from her childhood. Through Trisha’s parents’ story, the novel traces the history of Communism in West Bengal in the 1970s and the challenges of mental health in India at the time.
